Paper Plate Dinosaur 🦕

A standing paper dinosaur — easy to make with household supplies.

What you need

Steps

1
Color the back of the paper plate with crayons — make it your favorite dino color.
2
Cut the paper plate in half. One half is the body, the other half will be cut into a head, tail, and spikes.
3
From the second half, cut out a triangle head, a pointed tail, and small triangle spikes along the curved edge.
4
Glue the head to one end and the tail to the other end of the body half.
5
Cut the toilet paper rolls in half and glue or tape two pieces to the bottom as legs so your dino stands up.
6
Draw an eye and a smile on the head. Your dinosaur is ready to stomp!

Dino Learning Fun 🦖

Count, match, and learn with your little paleontologist.

🦕 Count the Dinosaurs

Look at the coloring page together. How many dinosaurs do you see?

  • Point to each dinosaur and count out loud: "One… two… three!"
  • Ask: "Which dinosaur is the biggest?"
  • Ask: "Which dinosaur is the smallest?"

🗣️ Dino Sounds

Make dinosaur sounds together!

  • Big dinosaur: "ROAR!" (make it loud)
  • Small dinosaur: "squeak squeak!"
  • Stomp your feet like a dinosaur walking
  • Ask: "How do you think a dinosaur walked? Slow or fast?"

🔢 Number Practice

Draw circles on a piece of paper and put the right number of dots inside:

  • Write "1" — draw 1 dot
  • Write "2" — draw 2 dots
  • Write "3" — draw 3 dots
  • Count them together out loud

🎨 Color Talk

While coloring, talk about colors:

  • "What color is your T-Rex?"
  • "Can you find something green in the room?"
  • "Let's color the volcano red!"
  • Name each color as your child picks it up
