Cotton Ball Sheep 🐑

A fluffy, fuzzy sheep — soft and fun to make together.

What you need

Steps

Draw a simple sheep shape on the cardboard — a round body with a smaller oval head and four stick legs.

Cut out the sheep shape (adult helps with cutting).

Let your child glue cotton balls all over the body — press each one down firmly.

Color the head and legs black with the crayon or marker.

Draw two eyes and a little smile. Feel how soft and fluffy your sheep is!

🗣️ Animal Sounds

Point to each animal and make its sound:

  • Cow → "Moooo!"
  • Pig → "Oink oink!"
  • Chicken → "Cluck cluck!"
  • Horse → "Neigh!"
  • Sheep → "Baaa!"
  • Take turns — you say the sound, child points

👆 Point & Name

Practice pointing and naming:

  • "Where is the cow?" — child points
  • "What color is the pig?"
  • "How many legs does the horse have?"
  • Point to the barn — "Who lives in the barn?"

🔢 Simple Counting

Count the animals on the page:

  • Point and count: "One cow… two pigs…"
  • Hold up fingers to match
  • "How many animals altogether?"
  • Count the legs on one animal: "One, two, three, four!"

🎨 Color Talk

Name colors while coloring:

  • "Cows can be brown and white"
  • "Pigs are pink!"
  • "What color is the barn?" (red!)
  • Find something the same color in the room
